Items to Import from Europe

For the most part, I believe in supporting local businesses. I like being able to meet and greet the owners of the stores where I shop. I like purchasing items that were made or grown near me so they didn't have to be shipped to my area (which costs time and fuel and ends up costing me money).

But I have to admit, there are some things that I prefer not to get locally. There are things that I like to have imported from Europe because I like what's made there a bit more than what's made here.

For example, I usually get certain types of clothing that has been made in Europe. I prefer European jeans to American ones. (Jeans from Italy are my favorite.) I also prefer girls european clothing for gifts for my friends' kids because it's a bit more unique in style than a lot of what can be found here.

I also get some food treats imported. I love French chocolates. I like imported coffee. I try to do the best that I can to work with sustainable businesses in foreign countries. I also try to choose small businesses over large ones. I attempt to stick to my shopping ethics even when ordering imported goods. I think that makes the importing a little bit more okay.
